Utility Trailer Manufacturing Adds a New Standard Feature to all Utility Refrigerated Trailers

Posted: 8/25/2011

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., August 25, 2011 - Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, the industry’s largest manufacturer of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner® curtainsided trailers is pleased to announce that the standard side wall lining has been changed to a “high impact” bi-directional fiberglass reinforced, polypropylene plastic lining.

Significantly more durable than traditional F.R.P. linings, this lining is now a standard feature on all Utility refrigerated trailers. “Over half of our customers are already utilizing this high impact lining on the side walls of their reefers and have found it highly beneficial because of its durability and resilience,” Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing at Utility. The Utility “high impact” lining has already been included as a standard equipment on the ceiling lining, front wall lining, rear door lining and sub-pan (underskin). Now, with the inclusion of the side walls, the entire interior and lower sub-pan below the floor is covered with this highly durable 100% recyclable lining material.

“We have recognized the imperative nature of using a material that not only is moisture resistant but also promotes the longevity of the trailer,” said Bennett. “This material is three times more puncture-resistant than standard fiberglass, which prevents negative impacts of moisture entry that may cause thermal degradation and weight gain.”
