Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company is America’s oldest privately owned, family-operated trailer manufacturer. With our corporate headquarters in City of Industry, California, we have 5 manufacturing factories in the United States and 1 in Mexico, along with two other parts or service-related operations.
Position Summary
- To observe, analyze and communicate field product problems and opportunities in a timely manner so that UTM Management can react with appropriate action.
- Handle potential warranty claims based on factual information and documentation obtained from the dealers.
- To actively travel to the dealers and observe, analyze, and communicate field product problems and opportunities in a timely manner so that UTM management can react with appropriate action
- To anticipate potential problems in current designs based on factual information.
- Report defects to management in detail using standardized reporting procedures (PPT/PDF).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To form a relationship and act as counsel and confidant to the dealer Service Managers and General Managers/owners in his region.
- Train the Dealer service in his region in warranty policies and procedures.
- Manage (Approve, deny, etc.) the claims submitted by the region.
- Discerns whether or not there are any un-resolved service-related disputes with dealers or customers which, if left unresolved may damage Utility’s reputation in that area. (Get involved and find a resolution)
- Ensure the dealers are following warranty policy and/or proper service technique in accordance with Utility serviceability standards.
- Recommend appropriate corporate approved response and then manage projects through to completion in a way that optimizes end-user satisfaction and the corporate reputation.
- Recommend new department processes, where appropriate.
- Create and furnish a written “trip report” of activities.
- As directed: travel for special projects.
