The State of Arkansas Recognizes Utility’s Paragould, Arkansas manufacturing plant with Two Million Hour Safety Award

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., December 20, 2019 — Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, the industry’s largest manufacturer of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner curtainsided trailers is pleased to announce that the State of Arkansas has presented a Safety Award to their Paragould, Arkansas manufacturing plant.

A group of employees at Utility’s Paragould, Arkansas trailer manufacturing plant were presented with a plaque recognizing the achievement of working for Two Million Hours Without a Lost Day Away from Work due to an injury, from the period July 6, 2017 to June 19, 2019. During this period, the Paragould plant’s over 740 employees worked over 2.8 Million hours without a lost time incident. The plaque was presented in November by Ralph Hudson, Director of the Division of Labor, Arkansas Department of Labor & Licensing, and Paul Hansen, Division Head of the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission, Health and Safety Division.

David Neighbors, Utility’s Paragould Plant Manager stated, “It’s a great honor for our employees to be recognized by the State of Arkansas for their commitment to keeping a safe workplace. In the past 40 years of this award, only 175 awards have been presented to Arkansas companies for achieving 2 million hours, and this is one of only two such awards presented by the State of Arkansas this year. I am very proud of our team!”

“We appreciate Mr. Hudson and Mr. Hansen personally taking the time to present this award to our employees, demonstrating the importance of this achievement. We constantly strive to be a safe place to work, and our continuously improving safety record over the past two decades shows our employees’ commitment to safety is deeply ingrained in our culture,” said Sean Graddy, Utility’s Paragould Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager.
