Utility Introduces New 4000A Flatbed

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., November 8, 2007 -¬ Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, reefers, flatbeds, and Tautliner® curtainsided trailers, is pleased to announce the introduction of the 4000A? flatbed.

Featuring an aluminum/steel composite design, the new Utility 4000A is both stronger and more durable than the 2000A flatbed while reducing tare weight by over 400 pounds. Utilizing the proven 2000A one piece plasma-cut main beam webs and 80,000 lb. frame rating, the 4000A includes the increased strength of a newly designed 80,000 psi high tensile steel, hat-shaped main beam top flange. What’s more, the 4000A features the dependability of a Hendrickson narrow hanger AANT 23k spread air ride suspension. Equally important, the main beams are contoured at the rear for uniform axle loading. Finally, the 4000A is the next generation of light weight flatbeds designed and tested on Utility’s own real-world test track to ensure reliability.

“The 4000A? flatbed raises the standard of strength and durability for a light weight flatbed,” stated Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. “With fuel costs and operating demands rising, this new model offers owner-operators and fleets a fuel efficient and durable alternative to other light weight flatbeds.”
