Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. Announces Alcoa's Translite

CITY OF INDUSTRY, California – April 4, 2006 – Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, a leading manufacturer of reefers, dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner® curtainsided trailers, is pleased to announce that it is offering Alcoa Mill Products’ Translite exterior clear-coated, polished aluminum exterior side skin as an option on the Utility 3000R reefer.

Lighter than stainless steel, the Translite aluminum is a cosmetic alternative to stainless steel. Offering a brilliant surface, the Translite coating resists peeling, corrosion and yellowing over time. Similar to the standard pre-painted white coating, the Translite coating protects the aluminum alloy from corrosive elements such as Magnesium chloride. Eliminating electrolysis and galvanic corrosion, the aluminum Translite material will not corrode aluminum parts as other dissimilar metals can, such as stainless steel.

A valuable option in situations where weight has an impact on productivity, the Translite option will now be available on Utility’s 3000R reefer. It was showcased at Utility’s booth at the the Utility Trailer booth at this year’s Mid America Truck Show, March 23rd through 25th, in Louisville, Kentucky,. The Translite option is part of Utility Trailer’s continuous effort to provide its customers with the best in technological innovations.

Utility Trailer’s 3000R reefer includes a number of standard features and options that help make it the market’s leading reefer. The innovative 3000R was designed from the ground up to provide high cube and low weight for a high level of productivity. In addition to Translite, Utility offers a wide array of options designed to meet the specific needs of its customers. Standard features include patented barrier rear doors, a stainless steel rear door frame, air ride suspension, a 10” heavy duty wear band, and the highest rated, patented standard floor system.
